This is a wonderful vintage Mr. John Classic hat in gray wool with white leather trim studded with brass.

We love Mr. John hats and this one is a perfect example of the style they brought to millinery in the mid century. It has a short brim, and small dome at the very top, creating the look of a cloche hat mixed with a custodian helmet!
